Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Simple Apps USA (Thomas J. Molinaro, a sole proprietor in Florida, United States; “we”) collects when you use our website, our apps and your account, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and our apps, we never sell it, we do not use advertising or tracking tools, and the AI service never stores your writing.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name if your sign-in provider shares it, and an identifier for how you sign in (Google, Microsoft, Apple or an email code).
- Your writing: the projects and pages you create in the Writer, with their version history, so the app can show them to you. Only you can see them.
- Plan and billing records: your plan, its status and dates, and the amounts, tax and refunds of your payments, as Paddle reports them. Your card or bank details go to Paddle, never to us.
- AI usage records: for each AI request, the tool used, the model, the number of words or tokens, the cost, the time and whether it succeeded. Never the text sent or the reply.
- Your own AI key, if you choose to save one: it is encrypted with a key held in Amazon Web Services’ key management service and used only for your own requests. We never show it again in full.
- Abuse prevention: when you sign up we keep a one-way, keyed fingerprint of your network address (not the address itself) to limit repeated free trials.
- Emails we send you: which message was sent and when, without your address.
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and our service logs do not record your email address or network address.
Why we use it
- To provide your account and our apps, including your plan, its AI allowance and the AI tools (performing our contract with you).
- To bill you through Paddle and keep the records the law requires (legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud, abuse and repeated trials, and to keep the service secure (our legitimate interests).
- To send you emails about your account: a welcome, trial and plan reminders, AI usage notices, billing notices and deletion warnings. You can turn off AI usage emails on your account page. We do not send marketing email.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers who run parts of the service for us, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Amazon Web Services (United States): hosting, email delivery and encryption keys.
- Neon (United States, on Amazon Web Services): our databases.
- WorkOS: sign-in. Google, Microsoft or Apple are involved only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Paddle: payments, tax and receipts. As the seller of record, Paddle handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Anthropic: the AI model behind the Writer’s AI tools. It receives only the text you send with an AI tool. Its commercial terms do not allow it to train models on that text. See our AI-use statement.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
- Your writing: while you have the app, and for 12 months after your plan or trial ends (read-only), then it is deleted. You are warned by email first.
- When you delete your account: your sign-in is removed at once, and your writing is deleted from our apps within a day.
- We keep a minimal account record after deletion (your email address and dates) to prevent repeated free trials, and billing and AI usage records as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Database backups, which let us recover from mistakes, are kept for no more than 30 days.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal information (your writing can be exported from the Writer at any time);
- correct it;
- delete it (you can delete your account yourself at your account page);
- stop or restrict a use of it, or explain how we use it.
Email support@simpleappsusa.com from the address on your account. We will reply within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the rights described above, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Where it is stored, and security
We store information in the United States. Connections are encrypted, saved AI keys are encrypted with keys we cannot export, and access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect. The date above shows when it last changed.
